About:

 

Association of professionals and mountain lovers, founded in 2014 in L'Aquila with the aim of contributing to the enhancement of the Abruzzo mountains and focusing attention on the possible economic opportunities to relaunch the economy of the City of L'Aquila in the post-earthquake period of 2009. Cooperation between the various mountain operators and respect for the territory as a whole are the founding values ​​of the Gran Sasso Anno Zero association. The heart of the activity is the promotion of projects with low economic and environmental impact, but with a great potential attraction, linked to the numerous sporting and tourist activities that can be practiced in our magnificent mountains such as climbing and mountaineering, freeride, freestyle, down hill, snowboarding, skiing, cross-country skiing, snow alp, snow kite, ski alp, paragliding, trekking, etc. To implement these projects, and start a new direction of development of eco-sustainable tourism for the Abruzzo mountains (and others) it is necessary to activate a virtuous circle of collaboration between local institutions (Municipalities, Region, Gran Sasso Park and Monti della Laga), various mountain professionals and operators (Alpine Guides, Mountain Supporters, hoteliers, restaurateurs and refugees) and local communities. Gran Sasso Annno Zero believes it is essential to create a mountain culture, a new relationship between mountains and cities, based on awareness and respect for our extraordinary natural and cultural heritage. In this perspective, the association creates, together with the Municipality of L'Aquila, the first edition of the Mountain Festival, with the slogan "The Mountain goes to the city". Three days of sporting activities, debates and socializing that have had enormous success with the public, and which will become a regular event in L'Aquila for the following years, and developed later in many other cities. "We are not interested, rather we are opposed to rapacious economic development, which loosens common resources in the short term, destroying the conditions for the future. Our projects are based above all on the principles of environmental and economic sustainability, for a model of valorisation, presence and mountain tourism that lasts over time and in the balance between nature and human activity". My role within Gran Sasso Anno Zero is of business developer and projects that incubate opportunities for economic growth for the territory, which highlight the naturalistic excellence of the Abruzzo Region and the Gran Sasso National Park, and which are able to bring out a territorial brand of L'Aquila able to attract tourism and develop job potentials connected to the context in which the local communities live. It is impossible to show here all the declinations of the corporate image because of the many events and festivals created so far but in these images it is possible to see a preview of part of the work of brand design and the corporate image. The concept of the logo was to represent the profile of the Massif of Corno Grande of Gran Sasso mountain with a sunrise behind it, as a symbol of rebirth.
